Busy Bee

I have been making lots and lots of things lately, more than usual, and I think I can thank mailart365.com for that.

Here's a glimpse into my favourite things as of late:

Photobucket

A little bit of this, a little bit of that.
Some mix cd's I am writing song listings for
My new rotary cutter (COOL!!)
My favourite magazine, Mirage, for it's lovely textured matte paper (and feathery and sexy images of course)
My Spicker Tacket, a gift from Kira
Gold foil lined envelopes
And many many other goodies, what can you find?

Good Mail Day!

I got some great mail today, and everyone knows a good mail day means a good day in general.

Here's what I received:

(!!)

Photobucket

Clockwise from top left:
-A thank you note from a little miss in Australia who I sent my zine to. Cutest envelope, and I'm such a sucker for a typewritten address.
-A mailart365 contribution from Jennie Hinchcliffe. Her work is unreal and I love this series she's been working on.
-A mailart365 contribution from Paula. I LOVE this one.
-A letter from Edward in the Letter Writer's Alliance. I always love his weird artistamps and reading about what's going on in NYC!

And I also got an extremely thoughtful package from the lovely Giorgia in Australia stuffed full of papery bits that she found on the side of the street. Other people obviously don't have same fascination and excitement which we both have when it comes to paper, as I NEVER would have thrown this out.

All in all, a GREAT mail day!

MAILART365!!!!

Organized by Andy of myREALwall
http://myrealwall.blogspot.com/

Mailart365 ( http://mailart365.blogspot.com/ ) is a project which encourages people to send one piece of mail art out into the world, everyday for a year. Tricky, but totally do-able.

Check out the website, because there's some really great mini works of art on there.

I started on Christmas morning, I just couldn't make myself wait until January 1st.
Here's what I've scanned in so far!

Oh, can you tell how stoked I am on my new circle cutter??

Christmas Eve Mail Send Off!

Sent off a big ol' bag of mail on Christmas Eve, which I've been receiving word that some of it has already arrived at their destinations! Woop.

Here's just some of what I sent:

Christmas Cards!
Christmas cards! Better late than never, right?

Off to Malta!
Off to Andre in Malta, it's a long way to go, so hopefully it gets there safely....I made the envelope using a beautifully illustrated map of Shakespeare's Great Britain.

Many Packages...
A few packages to a few people. My favourite envelope was Cassie's, which reads: "Today I had a great breakfast....ON THE MOON!" And on the back it reads: "The blonde one was called Freedom"
The top one is for Alison who is the creator of City Mail, a locally run FREE mail delivery system in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where I live. Great idea, greta ambition. I'm totally in love with the idea.

Mail for friends!
Giorgia gets runner-up for my personal favourite envelope. Her address is smack dab in the middle of on open palm of a hand. Kelly's package features a bichon frise and Sarah in Montreal is getting a foamcore postcard, which was originally a photo decorating a fitting room of my old work, American Apparel.

Two Envelopes
A package for a Letter Writer's Alliance buddy I met on flickr, and one for an etsy customer!

Packages for IUOMA Members
And finally, three zines being sent off to International Union of Mail Artists members!

It's been busy, but believe it or not, I have even more to post.....soon...soon....

I Love me a Photocopier

Nothing more do I love than a xerox machine. Except for maybe my friends and family.

Here are some photocopied collages I made quite a few years ago. One of my favourite things about owning a LOT of crafty papery things is going through them and stumbling on older items I may have forgotten about.

This is a series I made during my first year of art college!

The Whole Point

The Academy

Feisty Performances

Troubled Teens

Triple (mix cd) threat

Sending off a trip mix cd set to someone in the mail who I "e-met" on flickr. We have similar tastes in music, so hopefully she likes it!

Here are the collaged song listings I snipped together:

Long Lost Love

Walk on Water

Mirror, Mirror....

Do you want to get something in the mail? Let me know! Let's trade!
