Sappyfest Missed Connections

 photo sappy_zps7f4b364a.jpg

Thank you, Sappy Fest. Even upon your discretion, I still got my hopes up-and you really pulled through. The best year in the five years I have been thus far.

REAL LIFE POST!

I went away.

Photobucket

It was beautiful. It wasn't far and it wasn't for long, but it was much needed amidst a bunch of things like this:

Photobucket

Drinking 100 shots of beer in 100 minutes. The equivelant of nine beers in an hour and a half.

Photobucket

Oh yeah, and outdoors at noon on Good Friday. Mind you, I did not participate in this, but it sounds like something I would do. And have tried to do in the past.

Went to the hospital only once while I was off in the country, only once.

All in all, life has been good, and I'm looking forward to getting back into the normal swing of things? Hopefully spending less money and sending more mail.

Special Little Note From Chloe

I visited my girl Chloe in her beautiful big home in Riverport, about an hour and half outside of the city a few weekends ago. It was the perfect cure to a hangover and we lazed and lazed all Sunday. We played with her sweetest Newfoundland puppy named Penguin who was a ball of joy.

This sunsoak-iness will help you feel better after anything you`ve previously put your bod through.

But things can`t always be sunshine and roses though, and I definitely left my debit card in the country. Sure, you say, `No big deal, just go to the bank and get a new one.` That is easier said than done when you have the shame of already having to get a new debit card TWICE in the past week hanging over your head. So I stuck it out and waited for it in the mail, which was a delight when it finally came because it was in a sweet little envelope with a sweet little note.

Trying to get my life in order before I get back on the making-mail-train, so you can expect a lot of these Received Mail posts in the near future. Hope y`all don`t mind!

Lost Disposables

When I go places, I take (or purchase) a disposible camera.

Now, this might seem pretty ordinary, but if you mix a disposible camera with a forgetful, messy and absent minded person like myself, you can usually count on never seeing those photos. At least not for another year.

For example: this roll from Calgary and early Spring of last year.

Or maybe the year before....

This balcony was the place to be for that whole summer. Girls singing to girls, girls smoking smokes, and laughing at other girls' jokes. I miss you, summer balcony.

Photobucket
I remember this day being unseasonably but welcomingly warm.

Photobucket
I don`t usually like being in photos, and this captures my `Whaddya want me to do, huh` face

Chloe`s my God.

This is my best friend Ben in Calgary, where we are mowing down on a special indoor BBQ. I miss him. Check out that sweet plate he made.

Nothing says "January" like some Halloween photos:

I went on vacation in October and had the time of my life.
So much so, that when I returned home to Halifax, I couldn't have fun anymore.
No matter what I tried, no fun. So I moved to the country to be beside the ocean, because I feel like this is what I am supposed to be doing right now.
Slowing down, being lonely and getting things done.

To help me relive the good ol` days (3 months ago), I`m sharing some photos of the weekend where I did a lot of things I shouldn`t have.

Photobucket
That's my Halloween costume. It's also Raven, my online gothic alterego.

Looks like she got a new big city hair do.

WARNING: There is nothing pertaining to mail in this post.

Sappyfest.

The best weekend of the whole year. Always and forever.
This weekend was a rollercoaster that was the size of two small town blocks.

Filled with:

Good friends and new friends

Photobucket

Photobucket

The ladies' bed in the ladies' room. A dream.

Photobucket

Doing nothing and everything at the same time

Photobucket

Bars on cars in parking lots

Photobucket

Photobucket

Dancing on busses, dancing on chairs, dancing on band gear, dancing (falling on friends) in shopping carts

Photobucket

Bonjay and Charles Bradley, totally uplifting, totally emotional and moving at their most maximum.

Other highlights:

Shark Attack, AKA Arcade Fire played as a secret guest.

Jenner's leg getting crushed by a tall friend in a shopping cart as he was being wheeled home and requested " a blossom from the tree". This might not have been one of Jenner's highlights but hot damn, it was hilarious watching in slow motion as everything toppled.

Real Life Break!

Time to step aside from all this mail art.
Mail art is amazing and definitely one of my passions, but hey, guess what-I have a real life too.

Here's a few photos from a trip to the beach in the middle of the Winter...Sounds weird, but My friend Lindsey and I had a great time. My favourite part of the excursion was this grafitti on a wall:

Photobucket
I lost it, I think this is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Does anyone else share in my enthusiasm?

Photobucket
My face sums up how great of a day I had!

Photobucket
This is my Canadian Living shot. Wintertime, Atlantic Ocean views in the background, Tim Horton's in my hand and a pair of wool socks. It doesn't get any more Great White North than this, folks.
